Hamlet:The First Ghost Scene

Film Version 1 which was directed by Zerfelli was directed pretty well. It wasn't my favorite though. But yet it wasn't terrible either. In my opinion I think that he could have had a little bit more props to make it look a little bit more scarier since its a ghost scene. Therefore, I honestly loved the actor who played the ghost because he did make it seem very dramatic. I also, loved the music because it made the scene seem scary and it also gave me goosebumps. Overall, this version was good.

Film Version 2 which was directed by Branagh was directed very well and it was also my favorite. This version was played and set up very well. I loved how the actor made the ghost very dramatic because his voice was very deep, evil, and it just made the ghost look scary just like a ghost is suppose to be. The scene was perfect which it took place in the forest during the night time and when the ghost was talking the fog came out and the ghost voice had became so much deeper. The expression on the ghost face and the color of his eyes was creepy but i liked it alot. The background music had fit the scene too.

Film Version 3 was directed by Michael Almeredya, thisone was another one i wasn't really into. Only because the setting and the music was very low. This version really didn't catch my attention. Therefore, the actor who played Hamlet did because he did a good job playing him. Unlike, the other versions this one didn't have enough elements to bring back memory.

Ashley, you do a great job here of connecting your personal reactions to the films with concrete analyses of directorial choices. Well done! Have you had a chance to finish any of the other posts?
